Welcome to Hope Harbor Home

Thank you for visiting! Hope Harbor Home since 1986 has provided services to domestic violence victims/survivors and their children in Brunswick County, North Carolina. We offer:

  • a 24-hour crisis line, 910-754-5856, which is always answered in person by someone who can talk to you in confidence about domestic violence;
  • around-the-clock safe shelter for women and their children in immediate danger from an abuser;
  • assistance navigating the court system, filling out paperwork for protective orders and accompaniment to court;
  • empowerment support group for sheltered, non-sheltered, current and past victims/survivors of domestic violence;
  • community education programs promoting nonviolence and addressing such issues as bullying, safe dating, good touch/bad touch, self esteem, personal ethics and more;
  • victim advocates to talk to about domestic violence and help connect victims/survivors with all the sources of public and private assistance available to them;
  • a Displaced Homemakers Program which helps women find resources for improving their employment skills and education to meet the economic needs of their families after the family experiences changes which diminish household income;
  • four Hope Chest Thrift Stores offering gently used high-quality clothing, housewares, furniture, books, collectibles and other items to the public. Profits of the Hope Chests--located at Holden Beach, Leland, Oak Island and Bolivia--provide vital financial support Hope Harbor Home's programs for domestic violence victims and their children.

 We are here to help victims recover from domestic violence
and start building a safe, nonviolent future for themselves and their children.
